In America The early performing arts accomplishments of young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely place her into the category of child prodigies. But for a person of Irish origin, and surrounded by gifted parents and a loving family, they had innate talents. Maureen entered the safe haven of her parents on August 17 1920 in Ranelagh (a suburb of Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita Lu. FitzSimons had a successful contralto. Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer team in Ireland. He also owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer club and a Dublin business. Maureen was the third of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen enjoyed rough sports as a kid and was very good in them. Her naturally-born interest with her ability in performing was astonishing. As evidenced by receiving nearly every Feis award for drama or performances in the theater that her nation offered. At age 14she was accepted into the Abbey Theater, where her ambition was to study the art of opera and classical theatre.
